Vistara, India’s finest full-service carrier and a joint-venture of Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, has been rated a ‘Five Star Airline’ by passengers in the 2020 Official Airline Ratings™ by APEX (the Airline Passenger Experience Association). The award was presented at the ongoing Annual APEX Expo in Los Angeles, United States.
Vistara, which won this award in the category of Major Airlines, is the only Indian airline to have won the honour among leading airlines from around the world. This recognition is based on more than one million flights for the Official Airline Ratings™, rated by passengers across nearly 600 airlines worldwide between 1 July 2018 and 30 June 2019.
Mr. Leslie Thng, Chief Executive Officer, Vistara, credited the honour to the airline’s staff and said, “Our effort each day is to delight customers by making flying special and something to look forward to again. We are happy to receive this prestigious recognition by APEX, reflecting the trust our customers place in Vistara and recognising the dedication of our staff to consistently deliver an unparalleled flying experience to millions of travellers. We are grateful to our customers for their support and feedback, which continuously motivate us to do better every day.”
The APEX Official Airline Ratings™ evaluates overall flight experience of passengers, who are also given the opportunity to provide ratings in five sub-categories: seat comfort, cabin service, food and beverage, entertainment, and Wi-Fi. The ratings are based on independently verified, validated, and certified ratings by airline passengers after flights.Earlier this year, Vistara won the Skytrax award for Best Airline Staff – Central Asia and India, as well as top honours in the 2019 TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards, bagging two prestigious titles – ‘Best Airline – India’ and ‘Best Regional Airline – Asia’. The airline was also named the ‘Best Airline – Domestic’ at the Conde Nast Traveller India Readers’ Travel Awards 2019. Vistara has consistently raised the bar for operations and service delivery in the Indian aviation since starting operations in 2015.
